EEF Purchases through Amazon
We are excited to announce that Amazon Business is now approved to purchase from with your EEF cards so that you can get access to Business Pricing and our Tax Exemption. This new program simplifies your purchasing process and allows you to take advantage of Amazon’s wide product selection and competitive prices.
ACTION REQUIRED
Today you will receive an email to set up your Amazon Business login (sent from business@Amazon.com). Please promptly follow the welcome email instructions to complete the registration process. It takes 1-2 minutes.
What’s new?
This new program simplifies your purchasing process and allows you to take advantage of Amazon’s wide product selection and competitive prices with your EEF card only. You cannot use any other card.
How does it work?
This account will work exactly like a regular Amazon.com account. When you need to buy something, simply login with your work email and the password you created, fill your cart with what you need, and proceed to checkout. You will enter in your own EEF card and shipping address.
You will now receive:
· Access to millions of additional products, available only to Business customers
· Business-specific pricing, including quantity discounts on eligible items
· Tax Exemption
· Access to a specialized Amazon Business Customer Service team

Additionally, the in-network deductible for select coverage will increase from $1,000 to $1,300 for individuals, and from $2,000 to $2,600 for family coverage.

A W-4 can be submitting at any time during the year to change your federal withholdings, but it must be received prior to the 15th of the month to ensure it is effective in that month.

Policy DFK – Gifts and Bequests to School District
New Language: The Board reserves the right to reject any contribution to the district which does not serve to enhance or extend the work of the schools. New Language: 8. Must be assessed for fixed assets. New Language: “Crowdfunding” is defined as an internet-based request for resources from individuals and organizations to support activities or projects that enhance an education program.
Policy DJE – Purchasing
Adjusted Language: When necessary to avoid the payment of a penalty as required by law or when deemed reasonable, necessary, and in the interest of the district by the superintendent, subject to provisions of HB 758 2005 MS Code Section 37-7-301 and 37-9-14, the board authorizes the superintendent to pay any lawfully made and undisputed claim in an amount not to exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) per claim, prior to the approval of the claim by the board.
Policy KHD – Gifts to Staff Members
Adjusted Language: Changed the amount value of gifts that are considered minimal value from $25 to $100 per IRS guidelines. New Language: All cash or gift cards redeemable for cash are taxable to the employee, even when given as a gift. Non-cash gifts of minimal value, such as a holiday turkey, mostly are not taxable for employees if they are under $100 per year. Any gift worth more than $100 is taxable.
Policy KHE – Gifts to Schools
Adjusted Language: Removed language referencing the 1998 legislative session and added language related to MS Code §21-17-1 provides that the governing authorities or a municipality may donate lands and necessary funds to the public school district.
