Ms. Tuttle's Monthly Newsletter
2nd Grade News and Information
Who is Ms. Tuttle?
Other than being a teacher and eager learner, I am also a mother of a one year old boy, Jake. I have found that being a mother has made me that much more compassionate and caring for my students. I also have a very athletic history as I played ice hockey, basketball, ran track, volleyball, and more which grabs the attention of my active and athletic students.
So far we have had a great first month and I am looking forward to the rest of the school year.
Our Classroom Rules
The first week of school we worked together as a class to make the following classroom rules. The rules are posted in the classroom to remind us all how to be good Cougar students. Below you will see the rules as well our behavior chart reflecting each child’s behavior for the day. I will stamp each student's planner at the end of each day indicating their color of the day so that you as parents are aware of your student’s daily behavior. As a parent, if you ever have any questions or concerns about your child's behavior, please feel free to contact me so that we can discuss the matter.
Safe Classroom Environment
I know that many of the parents came out to see the classroom at Meet the Teacher Night, but below is a view of the class. This classroom is meant to be a safe environment where all students can share their ideas and be creative without feeling judged. I also strive to have a bully-free classroom and urge my students to report issues so that they can be resolved.
I hope that you, as parents, can help me in creating a safe, bully-free environment by urging your children to be kind to their peers as well as report any issues.
Meetings and Tutoring with Ms. Tuttle
In addition to providing a safe environment for the students to grow, I also have an open door policy for all of my students and parents of students. I am available both before and after school to answer any of my student’s questions as well as provide tutoring for my students. If you ever feel concerned about how your student is doing or would like to meet with me for extra help, please contact me so that I can help. I am here to help my students grow and will do everything in my power to help them succeed.
Please feel free to email me at tuttle@cougars.edu to set up parent meetings or tutoring sessions for your children.
Open House Coming Soon!
Cougar Elementary will be having Open House Tuesday, September 8th from 6:30-8:00 PM. We welcome all of our students’ parents and families to come out and see what our students have been doing. Everyone will first meet in the cafeteria at 6:30 PM where they will then be released to their student's classroom. I hope to see you all there as I know the students are excited to show off what they have been learning. I will be discussing our daily schedules, what we will be learning, and answering any questions you may have. I look forward to seeing you there!
