College Spotlight: Western College University
Western’s small size, unique setting and low tuition ensure students receive personalized attention, gain hands-on experience and graduate without taking on excessive debt.
INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING
Accelerated Degree Programs: Western offers a multitude of accelerated degree “3+2” programs, allowing students to earn their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in just five years—saving time and money. Students who pursue this path enter the workforce sooner, earning a paycheck and contributing to society earlier than if they were to pursue a standard pathway.
Partnership Program: New this year, students can earn a Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Colorado Boulder—all while on Western’s campus. During the first two years, students take Western courses with Western professors as Western students. During the last two, they take University of Colorado Boulder courses with University of Colorado Boulder professors as University of Colorado Boulder students on Western’s campus. Upon graduation, they earn a B.S. from the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Engineering & Applied Science.
School of Business: Students in the School of Business at Western will find a community dedicated to preparing students for the global marketplace—going beyond just a business education. A strong foundation in the liberal arts ensures students graduate with the ability to communicate clearly, solve problems and think critically. Professors mix business theory with practical application to real-world problems, so students graduate with hands-on experience in their field. Whether students are interested in healthcare, performing arts, sports, science or something else, every industry has a business aspect.
Honors Program: Honors students join a diverse and discussion-rich community of intellectually adventurous scholars. The Honors Program at Western welcomes high-achieving students from all majors and disciplines. Honors graduates are attractive to graduate schools and employers. Not only are they high achieving, global thinkers, they also write well, communicate and lead groups well, and have the intellectual agility and creative problem-solving skills to think through issues from many points of view.
