Lindsey Weekly Update
October 16, 2020
Message from Mrs. Bellan:
This week has been a whirlwind! We have been working hards to get the end of the grading period wrapped up. Our teachers are working harder than ever to educate our students in very challenging circumstances. The positivity, enthusiasm, and effort of our staff are remarkable. Furthermore, the resilience and energy of our kids are unmatched.
Next week will begin Fall AIR Testing Testing for 3rd Grade. Our Virtual students will be coming on both Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 am. Please remember to park in the large parking lot and students will enter directly through the 5th-grade hallway. Please plan to pick up your students following testing around 10:30 a.m from the same location. All students should bring a pencil, water bottle, and district-issued Chromebook (charged of course!)
In-person third graders will be testing at school on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. In-person testing will begin first thing in the morning.
To give our students the very best chance to show what they know, please remember to feed them a hardy breakfast and get a good night's rest. We are excited for our students to show what they know!
Next week, homeroom teachers will begin emailing parents a confirmation of their conference time and also a link to the teacher's zoom. All conferences will be held virtually and will be 15 minutes in duration.
Again, we are appreciative of how much time we have been able to get our kids outside to enjoy our beautiful property. Please remember as the seasons change to ensure your children have the proper attire to go outside.
A big thank you to our PTO for ALL of their hard work to make our Lap 4 Lindsey fundraiser a success. Additionally, we appreciate all of our room captains busily preparing for an unprecedented Halloween celebration. We appreciate everyone's willingness and ability to adapt in an effort to keep our kids and staff safe.
I hope everyone has a restful weekend. It is well deserved!
Best,
Meagan

Clinic Notes:
A friendly reminder from the clinic.....
-1.) If your child is sick, i.e. has COVID-like symptoms but has not been identified as a case or close contact of a case, see their doc and follow the doc’s medical guidance. If tested for COVID, wait for test results. If not tested, wait for 24 hours without symptoms.
2.) If your child has been identified as a close contact of a case and has been contacted by the health department, follow the order of quarantine, i.e. if the end date in the letter has arrived and the child is without symptoms, they can return without additional clearance. If symptomatic, that must be shared with the health department as described in the quarantine order. The child would then become a presumptive case.
3.) If your child has been identified as a positive case of COVID and has been contacted by the health department, follow the order of isolation, i.e. at least 10 days must pass since the diagnosis and the most recent 24 hours must be symptom free. At that point a release of isolation order will be issued by the health department and the child may return using that release letter as approval to return.-Thank you for helping to keep Lindsey's students and staff healthy!

We will need to know your child's end of day plans. To let us know where your child is going home at the day's end, please complete either a DAY PASS or PERMANENT PASS in the attached form by 9:00am. Additionally, there is an option for an EARLY RELEASE should you need to pick up your child before 2:45 pm. Please complete all forms by 9:00 am daily for same day transportation changes.

Please bookmark the form for easy reference. No paper notes will be accepted we are going all electronic. Thanks for your help in this process.
Given COVID-19, we are trying to make more of our everyday processes electronic and more efficient. These will replace the previous paper form we had.
Please note that there is an option for Lindsey students to ride a bus to Westwood so that parents can pick up all of their elementary-aged students at one location.
Should you have any questions about your child's bus route, please contact Cheryl Fowler at cheryl.fowler@westg.org or 440-729-0026.
