All good things come to an end. Okay, some good things...

It pains me to announce this, but the ability for students to charge lunches has come to an end. Nothing has changed as far as the policy of the lunch program provider, historically, it has always been the policy for students to not charge lunch. Because of the generosity of others, we have kept an account to cover the charges while efforts were made to recover the past due funds. But there has been a huge "over taxing" on this account. So, beginning next Monday, charges will not be allowed, This does not mean any child will go without lunch. They will be given a sandwich and milk. Also, please remember, that if any family is having difficulty with income, they may simply apply for the free and reduced lunch program. The charges that are over taxing our account are only coming from non-free and reduced families not paying for lunches. I cannot convey how much I hate to convey this news.

Cold Weather is coming "reminder."

Please always send your child to school with a coat. The weather changes drastically this time of year. Also, once the snow begins to fly, students will need a pair of snow pants, gloves, and hats to go with their coats. The school no longer has spare garments. Students without snow pants, hats, and gloves will have to spend recesses close to the building, not playing in the snow. We don't want that. Please send warm clothes. If your child does not come home with the equipment you sent them with, you will want to come back to school that day and help them find it. Getting new equipment each time the weather changes can get kind of expensive. Each student has a locker or area to put their snow clothes so if you wish to have snow boots and pants stay at school, that is encouraged.

Retakes for siblings not in school retake information

If you need retakes of a sibling that is not in school, they need to come to school early, from 8:45-9:00 for their retakes. Thank you.

Agenda for Early Release On October 25

Our teachers are all learning more about Personalized Learning and how to provide more opportunities for students to reach their own potential and interests.

One of the prepatory steps we are taking is learning about what it takes to be innovative. To that end, we are doing a shared book study of "The Innovator's Mindset, by George Couros."

Agenda:

Read, pair, share

“The Innovator’s Mindset,” by George Couros

Each teacher to identify at least one example of what an innovation is and one example of what an innovation isn’t.
