A Note From Mrs. Donnell
Thank you to the PTF for inviting me to your quarterly meeting this week. It is always a pleasure to spend time with this fabulous group of parents who work so diligently to make CCS such an amazing place.
As I was reviewing my newsletter post from last year at this time, I noticed that I was asking each of us to pray for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. This year we need to be in prayer for everyone in the path of Hurricane Florence this weekend.
Lots of exciting things have gone on this week. Our secondary students went through their Beyond Assessments with the Beyond staff on Friday. This excellent tool provides information and tips for the students to improve in areas that will allow them to “know who they are” and “whose they are” as they move forward on their educational/life journey.
We had a couple of classes go on a field trip today and was able to enjoy today’s beautiful weather. We had a great guest speaker for our secondary chapel service this week. Mr. Bob Mortimer and The Lasting Hope came and shared their gifts with our students and staff.

Topic: Follow the Leader
Remember playing "follow the leader"? The leader would show us what we had to do as we followed them.
Just like in the game, we have people in our lives who help us know what to do.
1 Peter 2:21 says, "For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps."
Jesus is our leader and He shows us what to do in the Bible and through adults who love God and teach us about Him. Being a follower of Jesus means to trust and obey Him. We obey Jesus by following Him.
