Yom Tov
When the Lights go Out
While we are not currently slated to have our power cut off by PG & E tomorrow, we will want to prepare for the possibility.
Should this happen, we will want to take responsibility for our students and get them to a lighted place, then take roll on the sheets that Lynn has just placed in your boxes. From this point we will want to carry on as best as we can until we get notice from the District as to what the next steps should be.
Should you have anything that needs charging. Do so either at home or immediately as you arrive at school in case power goes down in the middle of the day.
Again, this should not affect us but in the event of our loss of power my hope is that we’re prepared.

Successes and Celebrations!
- Congrats to our Instrumental Music program, and Greg Brown, for a delightful and engaging concert series!
Kudos to Kourtnie Howerton and the spirit program for running another great Junior Broncos clinic series- the future Broncos delighted audiences at last week's football game!
Congrats to our athletics teams for their exciting matches this week! Football beat Concord last Friday, Boy's Waterpolo triumphed over James Logan yesterday, Girls Volleyball fought hard against a tough Campolindo opponent, Girls Golf remains undefeated in league, and Girls Tennis played an incredible match vs Miramonte HS, and brought the score close with a 4-5 loss (last year they lost 0-9). Cross country had 10 medaling runners at their last meet!
Congratulations to our Homecoming Queen and King, Abigail Cheung and Gus Xepoleas! See a great story below on Gus' win!
The Germans are Coming!
Hello and Guten Morgen, esteemed colleagues,
Due to some unexpected family matters, I was unable to attend the last staff meeting where I had hoped to announce to you personally: "THE GERMANS ARE COMING"!!:)
A group of 20 German youth and 2 teachers will arrive this Saturday and be our guests here at Northgate for 3 weeks. They will shadow their Northgate partner students to class, which is where you come in. Most of them are being hosted by sophomores and juniors; if you don't have room for them and/or are giving a test or some activity where you'd prefer them not to be there, please send them back to my room (51) for periods 1-4 and to Kari Reed (room 43) for periods 5/6. Also, please let me know immediately if there is any in appropriate or disruptive behavior!
Otherwise, enjoy these terrific students, feel free to interview them, have your students talk to them, etc. We're very excited to have them.
Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks everyone!
Mit lieben Gruesse,
Frau Nancy
