The New T-TESS Evaluation System
Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System
- Developed by educators
- Reflects the growth mindset model prevalent in many schools today
- Rolls out statewide this coming 2016-17 school year
- Intended to be more than a "one and done" style of evaluation for teachers, multiple visits with multiple domains to observe.
For our purpose today, teachers need to be aware that technology is written in as supporting instruction
AND... technology is no longer fluff! It is REQUIRED in order to obtain "proficient" on planning and instruction domains! Check it out...
With this in mind, you can NEVER go wrong with sticking to the SAMR model of technology in the classroom
Take a look at this website...
Talk with a shoulder partner about the SAMR model and draw examples from your classroom that exemplify each element of the SAMR.
*REMEMBER! No administrator expects you to be at Redefinition every lesson every time you use technology. That is impossible! Instead, be proud of the fact that you have diversified your technology use to cover EVERY element of SAMR during the year.*
Now, you get to pick apart my lessons!
Then we will discuss how the activity could be extended or modified to move to a different level of SAMR, hopefully "up."
The Group Quiz!
Groups have 5 to 10 minutes to answer the question AND choose a spokesperson. We go over their answers in class. Here's how it works...
