BUSINESS INTEL FOR 8TH GRADERS
Mrs. Hass' guest speaker, Scott Williams, taught her 8th grade classes about business intelligence using Halloween candy. In each class, they went through the process of building charts in an online BI tool. We worked on building 5 visualizations: bar chart, geospatial map, line chart, network chart, and heatmap chart. Students were very excited about the subject of Halloween candy, in fact, they ate it up... For more information about the project, read Mr. William's in-depth LinkedIn article.
CHARACTER STRONG
Dare to be taught on 10/8 - Pay It Forward
Show a random act of kindness today without looking for something in return. It could be sharing a bag of cookies during lunch or writing a note of encouragement to someone in your school. Whatever it is, tell them to "Pay It Forward" by doing their own kind act for someone else. Remember that paying it forward doesn't have to cost money!
