Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences are coming soon! Each family will schedule an individual conference time with their child’s homeroom teacher. The conference window is November 16 and 17 after school and the morning of November 18. (There is no school on Friday, November 18). In next week’s RAP, there will be a SignUp Genius for you to schedule your conference. The times fill quickly. Please watch for the SignUp Genius next Friday, November 4. We will offer both in person and zoom conference times.
Second Steps
Today’s Second Step lessons focused on showing compassion and understanding how others may have different feelings than we do. Key parts of the lesson are:
- It is okay for people to have different feelings about the same thing.
- Showing care and concern is called showing compassion.
- Compassion means saying kind words or doing something helpful to show you care about how another person feels.
Families can support this at home by pointing out situations where another person shows compassion. Help put a name to examples of compassion that you see in your everyday life. We asked students to “Take a moment to think about how you can show compassion to someone today. Then find a way to do it during the day.” Your family can do this too!
Message from the Ridgeway Cafeteria
Hello Everyone!
Starting November 4, we will be offering an A la Carte' item for sale at lunchtime on Fridays only. This item will be either an Ice Cream cup or a Rice Krispie Treat. We are starting with a Rice Krispie Treat. The cost is $1.00 per item.
The item can be purchased with money in the student’s account or with cash in hand.
If a child is in a negative balance, they will have to purchase with cash only. They cannot charge it.
If you do not want your child to purchase these A la Carte’ items, please make it clear to them that they may not buy them.
Another option is to let me or Nutrition Services know that your child is not allowed to purchase these items, and we can put a hold on their account so that A la Carte’ items may not be purchased.
If you have questions, please call the office at (573) 214-3550 and I will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you, and it is an absolute honor to feed your children.

Unit C students are currently working on informative writing. Students are gathering information by looking at different sources and will turn it into a multiple-paragraph essay. Reading calendars are due on November 1.
Unit C Fall Party could use a few more volunteers. Please sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0C4BA4AB2EA02-unit if you can help!
Specialist News
One Read
It’s time for the Ridgeway One Read!
We had a great time celebrating the end of the Ridgeway One Read today with popcorn and the dress up day! Thank you for participating in the Ridgeway One Read at home too! I strongly believe one of the reasons I enjoy reading is because I have many fond memories of my mother reading to me growing up. Those positive experiences with literature have impacted who I am as a person and educator. Because of this, I am passionate about families having conversations and spending time together with books in hand. I hope through the Ridgeway One Read your family had an opportunity to make some great memories these past two weeks. Reading together as a family doesn’t have to stop with the ending of the One Read, though! If you are looking for what to read next, here are some other great historical fiction stories:
Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko
The War the Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse
I Survived series by Lauren Tarshis
Ranger in Time series by Kate Messner
Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne
Thank you and happy reading! ~Mrs. Munsterman
