Weekly Happenings
Week of 4/2/18
A Message from the Administrator
Greetings MCS Families,
I would like to give you an update on last Thursday’s threat. The name of the man was released over the weekend and on Monday I put a 'No Trespassing' order on the individual. Staff has been updated and we are continuing to work with the police, fire dept., and other schools to make sure we are all on the same page. I have meetings with two different door companies to look at providing locking front and back doors for the main building. I will keep you up to date as we receive more information on these updates.
On April 18th, we will be having Kindness Day throughout the school. Mrs. M, our school counselor, is working with staff members and will be making a collective hand print tree that will be displayed in the main building. Kindness is something that we work on throughout the school with our Positive Behavior System, and we are wanting to showcase it on this day.
Our students have been working diligently and following our Positive Behavior System by showing Loyalty, Integrity, Optimism, Nobility, and Success throughout the school day. (If you are interested in more information on our PBIS Matrix System visit the MCS PBIS Page.) Our individual classrooms collect tokens when students showcase these traits and they are all combined into our main container during our Friday Morning Meetings. Once our main container is full, the students are awarded with an incentive.
Because of their hard work this year, they have earned a game day that will take place this afternoon. We will have different areas throughout the school with activities that students can participate in. Activities that we will have available include BINGO, charades, art, board games, virtual reality field trips, kickball, and yoga. This is a fun way for our students to celebrate doing the right thing at school.
Finally, please take some time and check out our new website. It is up and running and looks amazing. I want to thank Dain and Angie White for the years and time they put into our previous website and Lashelle Wilson for her hard work in creating the new website.
I look forward to seeing many of you at conferences tomorrow and hope you have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Tony Bonuccelli
