Safety at School
The teachers and staff at Mammoth Elementary School always prioritize safety for your children while at school. Please remind your child of safety regarding coming to and from school. Now that we are receiving more snow and ice, it is especially important to remember to remind students to be aware of the dangers associated with snow including roofalanches, icicles, snow immersion and more. Also, please know that we complete emergency preparedness drills monthly at the school site to ensure we are prepared in case of emergency.
Parking Lot
Thank you to all of our families for ensuring a safe and efficient drop off. As a reminder, please pull all the day to top of the driveway for drop offs. There is absolutely no parking in the drop off lane. Children must exit on the passenger's side, and adults may not exit vehicles. Please use caution when exiting the parking lot and yield to oncoming traffic.
Snow Attire
Please remember that at Mammoth Elementary, we love to play outdoors. If it is snowing, students need to have the proper snow attire to have fun. This includes snow boots, snow pants, waterproof jackets, gloves and hats. Sending your student to school with the proper attire will help ensure a day full of fun and focused learning too. It's no fun to learn if you are in class and wet. Thank you for your cooperation. We are working on a clothing drive at school, and we will have details soon. If you are in need of clothing, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Mammoth Mountain Ski & Snowboard Teams
MMSST has begun their weekday training. To ensure a safe and orderly pick up at MES, we're asking all families to arrive at 12:30 to check out their students. We cannot accommodate early/late pick ups without disrupting classes. If all students can be checked out at a similar time, it makes for a more seamless transition for our students and teachers. Please come to the office to sign out your child. If carpooling, please ensure the adult is on your child's emergency list.
Also, please remember that students must remain academically eligible to participate. Please speak with your child's teacher to create a plan for lost instruction.
June Mountain Ski & Snowboard Team
Come and join the June Mountain Ski and Snowboard Team! June Mountain welcomes all students who are interested in learning more about skiing and snowboarding. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity. Students must be able to load and unload chair J2 independently and know how to stop and turn.

MUSD Illness Protocols and Attendance
Please remember that if your child is ill, they should remain home from school. Please do not send your student to school if they have symptoms. Once your student has had no fever in the last 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications, there are three options to return to school. Your student may get a medical note clearing him/her to return safely to school. OR You can provide documentation of a negative COVID test OR, lastly, your student may remain out of school for 10 days since symptom onset.
*COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing for MUSD at Mammoth Hospital*
You can take your students who may be having Covid-19 like symptoms to get a free rapid test BEFORE bringing them to school.
Testing will be offered Monday-Friday from 7:00am-9:00am. Testing will be closed on holidays and weekends. Rapid tests are for symptomatic people only.
Instructions for rapid testing:
Students will present to the laboratory swabbing area that will be outside in the parking lot. Follow the pre-procedure signage to the Scheduled School Testing Parking spots.
Students will stay in their vehicle and call the phone number on the signage for the Lab swabbing room to alert Lab staff to presence.
Once the result has been determined as negative, a pass will be issued to the student to return to school.
If the result comes back positive, the student will be told to return home and they will be contacted by Mono County Public Health.
