On August 16, 1908 a riot broke out and creaked mass destruction. Six months after the riot people began to believe that the African Americans should have someone or a group to stand up for their human rights. February 12, 19909 the National Organization for the Advancement of Colored People was created. A day that which is known to be Abraham Lincoln's birthday.

The Purpose
The main reason for the National Organization for the Advancement of Colored People is for the people to feel as if someone is there for them if they believe that they are being treated unfairly because of there race.
W. E. B. Du Bois
Du Bois was born February 23, 1868 and died on August 27, 1963. He was an racal activist, historian, writer, Pan-Africanist, editor, poet and became a citizen in Ghana when he was 95.
Ida. B. Wells
Ida was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi on the year of 1862 and died when she was sixty-nine. Before she died she was able to show her support for woman's rights, anti-lynching, write what she wanted and speak her mind on slavery and racial problems.
Mary Church Terrell
Mary was born in to a wealthy family in 1863 to parents that were former slaves.
Goals
The NAACPs mission was to show the people that there is change for everyone and ensure everyone that there is quality in the world for the "minority"
Strategies
The NAACP supported people that went to court and wanted freedom and quality. They created rallies to show that treating people a certain way because of the race, skin color or even how they look should not be tolerated and will not be tolerated.
Essay
The NAACP wanted to help minorities and other people that do not get a fair chance in the world today. They figured that creating this will help create equality for others. NAACP created the organization to fight segregation in courts. Their impact in the Civil Rights movement was showing others that what the American society is doing now is not right and we as a people deserve equality through out society.
