May Character Trait: Self-Control
This month CCA's Character trait is Self-Control. We asked a 3rd, 7th, and 9th grader what having self-control means to them, and here are their responses. One student said, "it's being patient, like when your mom tells you not to eat something." Another student said self-control is controlling yourself in a Godly way and doing no harm. Another student answered that it's not acting on impulse. The definition of self-control is the ability to control oneself, in particular one's emotions and desires or the expression of them in one's behavior, especially in difficult situations. 2 Timothy 1:7 says "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." --Priscilla
Zoo or Amusement Park
For our Survey Says article this week we asked our elementary students if they would rather go to a zoo or an amusement park? Here are their responses: Zoo received 27 votes & the Amusement Park received 39 votes. Does your summer vacation include going to a zoo or amusement park? --Audrey

HS Graduation
Clinton Christian Academy (CCA) held their third High School graduation on Saturday, May 14th at 2pm in the CCA gym. CCA had six seniors who completed the requirements for graduation and earned their high school diplomas. Lauren Ferry-Sullentrop, daughter of Lance and Lori Sullentrop, was Valedictorian. Jessica Steward, daughter of Bill and Sue Steward, was Salutatorian. Both ladies delivered a joint address with words of wisdom for the graduating class of 2022. The junior class of 2023 had some fun "roasting" the seniors at the event before the graduates received their scholarships and diplomas. Mr. Don Patterson, current CCA Bible and Social Studies teacher, was the keynote speaker. Congratulations to Mikhail Ake, Jon Ferguson, Lauren Ferry-Sullentrop, Hailey Scott, Jessica Steward, and Jack Wright on your high school graduation and the beginning of the rest of your lives. --Audrey
