Students will enjoy a picnic lunch and an afternoon full of activities to participate in. Our PTO (Parent/Teacher Organization) could use your help to make this day a success! They are needing donations and volunteers. Items needed are: hot dogs, hot dog buns, individual bags of chips, canned pop, bottled water, individually wrapped cookies and candies, gift cards. Monetary donations are always welcome and payable in the HWMS main office. If you can help please contact Dusty Rymer @ drymer@usd261.com. Thank you in advance for your support!
Promotion Parade - Monday, May 16th, 7:00-8:00 pm
We want to celebrate your student and their promotion to high school. This is such a fun event for the students and families. Get as creative as you like with signs, streamers, balloons etc. Vehicles will enter the west drive of the HWMS parking lot and proceed past the football field through the bus drive and exit onto Meridian via the Prairie Elementary School entrance/exit. Students will receive their Promotion Certificate from their administrators at the end of the Parade Route.
8th grade students will all have the opportunity to take a "green screen" promotion picture on the West side of the building before driving around to the promotion parade. The picture will be edited to have their building administrators added complete with a Haysville West themed background. Information for these are below and pictures should be available to view and/or purchase within 24 hours of the conclusion of the parade. We are excited to be able to offer this service to any families that might be interested.
There will be an area on the east end of our bus drive dedicated for any friends or family members who would like join the parade route. Feel free to bring your own chairs and signs to celebrate with us!

Starting July 5th parents can log on to their Parent Powerschool Account and enroll their child/children for the 2022-23 School Year. You will be receiving a USD261 email with instructions for online enrollment. HWMS will be sending an email late July with a School Supply List and other back to school information for next year.
Free/Reduced Information: βOver the past two years, the federal government has provided free lunches to all students. The District was recently informed that congress has not renewed the free lunch program for public schools. For this reason, effective August 1, 2022, the pay/free/reduced lunch program will be reinstated, and families who do not qualify for free/reduced lunches will be responsible for paying for their child(ren's) meals. Families who believe they may qualify for free or reduced lunches will be required to complete an income application form during the enrollment process. The District will continue to provide any new information regarding student lunches as it becomes available. Please contact our Food Service Department at 316-554-2219 if you have any additional questions.β
