Science Bowl Car Team Named Regional Champs
Congratulations to the Science Bowl Car Team for placing first and second in the speed race at regionals this month. The teams also finished first and third in design. For pictures of the team, please visit the school's Facebook page or Google Doc Folder.
The car teams build an electric model vehicle that can be put into motion. Over the past 4 months, the teams have started with a design on paper that eventually was built into a prototype. From there they had to test their car and make adjustments in order to have the fastest car. Their cars are judged by speed or fastest as well as by design. The Science Bowl Car Team regional was hosted by Argonne National Labs and Case New Holland. The sponsors donated their time to interview all the students about their designs. They also spoke in detail about future careers in science and engineering and the skills needed to succeed.
Congratulations to Coach Tony Hafner and the following Science Bowl Car Team students: Wesley Deheck, Adrian Gualdron, Andrea Gualdron, Ethan Hu, Rishi Mohan, Eric Zhang, and Ryan Zhang.
The Science Bowl Academic team will compete at Nationals on May 7.
