Team 2024
August 2020
Welcome from Mrs. Lingelbaugh
Welcome back! We are so excited to begin the 2020-21 school year with our newest BHS Bulldogs. Team 2024 is off and running, and we will be working together over the next four years to successfully reach commencement in June 2024. Each one of us on Team is committed to helping students reach their maximum potential and uphold high standards, and we have been extremely impressed with these young scholars over the past week and a half.
We encourage you to stay involved and connected through PowerSchool, Naviance, Team websites, and frequent communication with teachers. We also encourage you to become involved with the PSG to support the excellent activities that take place at BHS. You will find information on this and more in the newsletter this month, so please take time to read and contact us with any questions. The most important up-coming event is Open House this week on Thursday – mark your calendar and make plans to Zoom with teachers 7-8:30pm. See details below.
2020 has certainly had its challenges, but we are thankful to be back in school. We look forward to a wonderful, productive year!
Meet Your Team
Stacey Lingelbaugh - Assistant Principal (far right)
I am excited to be starting my 21st year in Brownsburg. I was a math teacher for 15 years before completing my admin degree at Butler University and stepping into the role of Secondary Department Head for Mathematics for BCSC and then as Assistant Principal at BHS. I have been married to my husband for 25 years, and we have two children, Andrew and Jordan. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, playing the piano, and riding our Harley.
Being able to work with students in our Team structure and watch them grow and move toward graduation is truly a blessing, and I am proud to be the only AP in the history of BHS to be taking on a third term with Team 2024. I believe in our kids and in our mission, and I look forward to a great 4 years.
Leslie Ayers - Counselor A - K (second from left)
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. I am the counselor for student's last names A-K. I grew up in east Texas and graduated from Sam Houston State University. My husband's job brought us to Indiana a few years ago, and I was able to join the BHS family. When I have free time, I enjoy cooking, being outside, and spending time with my dog. I look forward to getting to know all of my students this year!
Megan Mayo - Counselor L - Z (second from right)
My name is Megan Mayo and I am originally from southwest Ohio. I moved to Indiana after getting married and have been part of the Brownsburg Schools ever since. I taught math for 18 years mostly in a middle school setting and loved every minute of it. Three years ago, I transitioned to my current position as a high school counselor. I earned my bachelors degree in education from Miami University in Ohio and my masters degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children, who are growing up way too fast. I also love reading and spending time outdoors.
Marcus Evans - Academic Coach (center)
My name is Marcus Evans, and I am our team’s Academic Coach. Originally from Mississippi, I am a graduate of Mississippi College (Bachelors in Exercise Science) and Marian University (Masters in Education). This year will be my third year as the Academic Coach and the Asst. Boys Basketball Coach at Brownsburg High School. In my spare time I play basketball, exercise, and spend time with my three daughters.
Katherine Murray - Administrative Assistant (far left)
I am so excited to begin with a new group of students! I love getting to know the students and forming those awesome relationships with them. I am originally from Muncie (Delta grad) and received my bachelors from Ball State University. After moving around the country for ten years, my daughter and I have planted our roots here in Brownsburg. I'm going into my third year with BHS. In my spare time I plays tennis, bake and decorate cookies, spend time with my daughter, and read as much as I can.

Reporting Absences and Calling In Appointments
When a student is leaving early for an appointment, please call the team office as early in the day as you can to let us know. We will send a pass to the student's class to release him/her. The student will sign out in the team office and then be allowed to leave the building. Only a guardian may call to release a student from school, but you may have anyone pick him/her up. Parents do not have to come in to sign the student out; students will sign themselves out.

Dress For Success
Masks must be worn at all times in the building and on the bus. Should a student need a mask, please see the team office for one.
Lanyards are a requirement for every student in BHS. Your student's lanyard is red, and should be worn around the neck at all times when in the building. If your student forgets his/her lanyard, s/he must come to the team office for a loaner for the day. Replacement lanyards may be purchased in the main office for $5.
Clothing should be so constructed and worn in a manner that is not unduly revealing. Tops that may NOT be worn include tank tops, muscle shirts, tube tops, halter tops, backless shirts, tops with spaghetti straps, sheer or fishnet shirts, and cut-offs or other tops which show midriff. Plunging neck lines and excessive exposure is not acceptable. Our gauge for necklines will be 4"; the length of four fingers. All shorts, skirts, and pants should not be unduly revealing, using the fingertip rule as a guide.
Students who are in violation of our BHS dress code will be sent to the team office to put on school-assigned attire or call a parent/guardian to bring them a change of clothes.
Hats, sweatbands, and bandanas are not to be worn in the building. Students who wear hooded sweatshirts are not permitted to wear the hoods. Any new "fads" in clothing or anything specifically covered in the above guidelines, which is considered inappropriate dress shall be dealt with at the discretion of an administrator/designee.
PSG - Parent Support Group
The High School Parent Support Group (PSG) is compiling an email list of parents who can be contacted when the need for donations or volunteers arises at the high school. There is no obligation to donate or volunteer when the request goes out, but we would love to add your email to the list. For example, typical school year requests include food items for the teacher luncheon (or this year it's treat baskets) or volunteers for ticket sales or fundraising sales, or refreshment donations and volunteers to stock the refreshments at the Homecoming Dance. The PSG sends out about one email a month on average. If you would like to be included on this email list, let the PSG know at bhspsg1@gmail.com. Thank you!
