Big picture

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Today marks the official last day for teachers, many of whom will continue to give of their time and talent to work on various planning committees for fall. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work through these last few months. As this pandemic unfolded, the Biddeford and Dayton School Departments began a prevention regime that seemed overly cautious at the time: curbing deliveries and distributing hand sanitizer. Then, the world changed overnight and we scrambled to figure out how to educate students at home for a week. Then two. Then for months. Our teachers made valiant efforts to stay connected with kids, but for most, remote instruction is a new paradigm with a steep learning curve.

Thank you for completing last week’s important parent survey to assist the Biddeford and Dayton School Departments as we prepare for several different reopening options in the fall. We shared results with the public on June 9 (click here for full presentations: Biddeford and Dayton).

This week’s parent survey (links below and via InstaAlert) is asking for your feedback on emergency remote instruction over the last several months and how we can improve as we develop this mode of instruction in Plan C. Building and curriculum leaders are eager to learn about your experiences and improve as we may find ourselves in a similar position in the fall.

It is very important for parents to stay connected to the school. If you have not yet set-up your Infinite Campus Parent Portal or need to make any edits to your information, please do so by clicking on the below links. The instructions are copied below to guide you step-by-step and answer any questions you may have.

We invite you to watch the BHS Class of 2020 graduation next Wednesday, June 17th at 9 PM as it is broadcast simultaneously on the website, social media platforms, and Biddeford public access as it streams live for graduates at the drive-in.

Throughout the coming months, I will continue to post updates on our website and social media platforms as I have relevant information to share with parents. Please direct any questions to or 207-391-6868.

Stay Well,

Jeremy Ray
