Fantastic Fourth Grade

Peek at the Week

Here is what is coming up next week!

Writing-The students are beginning to plan and develop their expository composition. They are practicing their expository leads and learning how to create a central idea.

Reading-We are finishing up our Media Literacy unit and looking at how the media can persuade us and the techniques they use. We are looking at websites to determine if the information posted on the internet is always true and learning how we can identify the differences between real and fake.

Math-We are deepening our understanding of fractions by looking at mixed and improper fractions and how they relate to one another. We are also looking at adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators and decomposing fractions. We will be having a test next Tuesday the 8th.

Science-We are looking at how we can describe the sequences and how we can predict the patterns in shadows, tides, seasons, and the phases of the Moon. We are beginning to look at the seasons and what causes them to occur and then we will begin to look at the patterns and sequence in the moon phases.

Texas History-The students are creating advertisements to persuade colonists to settle in Texas.
