Weekly Warrior Update
Student Focused-World Class
Word for the Warriors....
Dear Warrior Families,
Last week was an action packed week!
Sevier Girls and Boys basketball teams competed in the AAA 1 East Tennessee Sectionals. Both teams played hard and represented us well! We could not be more proud of their hard work, sportsmanship, effort and spirit this season. A big thank you is also deserved to all coaches: Schaun and Julie Potts, Jesse McCormick and Aaron Gourley! Go Warriors!
Thank to you all of the families who came to Sevier to conference with your child's teachers! We know that family engagement and communication is vital to the success of our students! Please know that we are always an email or a phone call away and we are always willing to meet for a conference at any time!
This week we take time to celebrate and thank our School Counselors! Thank you to John Burleson, Kelli Ferguson and Michelle Kincaid. These adults work tirelessly to support the social-emotional heath of our students both individually and collectively. Please know that if you would ever like to speak with one of our counselors, they welcome phone calls and conferences and are always happy to help support you as parents whether support is needed at home or whether your child's assistance is needed school. We will be sharing ways that our counselors are working with our students and school family throughout the week. Happy National School Counseling Week!
Parents of Ninth Graders, please note that there are two meetings this week of which you may be interested. On Monday, February 6th there is a meeting for all DB students who are interested in taking AP and/or Dual Enrollment classes. On Tuesday, there will be an important parent orientation meeting for all rising 9th graders. As principal and as a parent of a current 9th grader, I would highly recommend attending this orientation. There will be a general information session followed by break-out sessions that you may attend of your choice and interest. Please see the information below to obtain specific information regarding these meetings.
Here's looking toward another great week at John Sevier Middle School!
Proud to be a Warrior!
