Hello Holland Elementary Parents,
The warmer weather was certainly an exciting part of school this week. The kids were really enjoying the spring-like weather, yet some students told me that they were bummed that they might not get another snow day.
There's also a lot of excitement with other great activities going on right now at Holland: Tricky Tray, Science Fair, Pink Out, and Read Across America.
Tricky Tray - Friday (4pm-8pm) and Saturday (10am-1pm). Winners will be called at 1pm on Saturday in the gym, and you do not need to be present to win. There are 180 trays to be won this weekend! You don't want to miss this event. Individual ticket sales will be available at the event for Cash Only.
Science Fair - Our Science Fair will be next Wednesday, March 1st. Tri-fold boards can be picked up in the office, and please note that permission slips are due to school by Monday, February 27th.
Pink Out - To bring awareness throughout the community, Holland Elementary will be wearing pink on Friday, February 24th. If your child does not own any pink clothes, he or she may wear red or white. Also, students can purchase wristbands for $1 and raffle tickets for $.50 during the arrival time at school. The winner of the raffle will win lunch with the staff member of his/her choice. Four sixth grade girls have been organizing these activities, and their goal is to support the millions of lives that are affected by breast cancer. With the funds raised, they would like to raise money for the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.
Read Across America - Before our Suessical Spirit Week (details below), we'll be hosting special guest readers to our school all day on Friday. The children are going to love this! Be sure to ask your child who visited the classroom and what story was read.

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee is seeking volunteers to join the committee. The committee seeks to recognize and draw on the talents of our parents, students, teachers, and community.
