Letter Reading 1: The Start of a fun Tradition What better way to show someone how much they mean to you than a hand written letter. At IU21, we are starting a new video series called the CLIU Appreciation Letter Readings. This one is from a family of an autistic student to the educators in his MDSB classroom at Panther Valley High School. | American Education Week 2022 To celebrate American Education Week this year, we introduce you to some amazing people at IU21. Teachers, students, and staff members all come together to create opportunities for our special needs children. Students learning to work, teachers appreciating their paraprofessionals, and transportation workers taking their job duties to the next level. Click to link which takes you to a playlist of all the AEW2022 videos this year! | Cetronia Ambulance Corp. Visits Northwestern High School We are so thankful our local paramedics and EMTs took the time to speak with our special needs children at Northwestern High School. They showed our students bandage wrapping, band-aid application, the importance of using gloves, and so much more! |

Orefield Middle School honors our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students with Art There's nothing better than making a student with special needs feel welcome. Inclusion is so important, and it's why Orefield Middle School is making sure their deaf and hard of hearing students feel right at home through art and murals! Check out the hallway paintings at OMS with the goal of creating a home for their DHH students. September is deaf awareness month! | IU21 Children Receive Their Adaptive Bicycles and StrollersIt's easy for able-bodied people to hop on a bike whenever they want and take a ride as far as they can go! But not everyone has the physical opportunity to do it that easily. That's why the IU partnered up with Variety: A Children's Foundation to gift special needs children and their families with these really cool adaptive bicycles! It makes it so much more accessible for these kids to enjoy the outdoors as well as every day tasks. | Opening Day 2022 is Back In-Person and Better Than Ever! The true kick-off to the fall season and the new school year is the CLIU Opening Day ceremonies. Full of fun and laughter, this is a time to get ready for everything ahead! With the theme of Feeling the Rhythm, faculty and staff danced to the beat! We even had a surprise musical performance from the big boss! Then we all break up and work towards new goals with your department. Opening Day 2022 was incredible! |
