Catholic Resources: Where to find them
This module will provide participants, both Elementary and Secondary staff, with access to a series of videos and slides containing information about the various Catholic resources available to support the faith development and practice of staff and students. This module includes links to resources to support liturgical celebration planning, the integration of scripture into your teaching practice, social justice links, Catholic websites of interest, curriculum links, Fully Alive links, mass planning tools as well as Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ connections.
New this year is: Selecting Appropriate Music for Religious Celebrations
Need help navigating hymnals and selecting music for your religious celebrations? This module gives you a brief overview of norms for music during a Eucharistic celebration. Find outlines for your mass and some great Catholic resources to help you create a reflective experience for staff and students.

SHSM Next Steps and Beyond - UPDATES!
This module will serve as both a semester 2 “check-in” for schools, and as a communication platform for growing richer and more engaging SHSM programs! Topics will include Sector Partner Contextualized Experiences (SPCE), SHSM program challenges, and effective practices to streamline SHSM processes moving forward. SHSM Team Members.

MyOn - An Edwin Partner App Module
This module is designed to introduce Edwin pilot teachers about MyOn, the digital library and literacy tool offered as part of the Nelson pilot project with DPCDSB.Edwin Pilot teachers (Grade 6/7 - 7 - 7/8)Exploring Experiential Programs in High School
This module is designed for Grades 7 & 8 teachers/EGELTs as a guiding resource for Intermediate students. This module explains SHSM and Dual Credits as experiential learning programs. As part of the Growing Success document "Who am I?", students will be made aware of some experiential programs available to them in high school. This module can also be used to promote SHSM and Dual Credit programs at Secondary School Information Sessions.

Strings and Things
Wondering about how to support operational strategies, fact fluency and the fundamental math skills and concepts in your classroom? In this module participants will explore Number Strings, short daily approaches that promote increased efficiency, flexibility and accuracy with computational strategies through collaboration, discussion and the representation of student mathematical thinking.
Primary, Junior and Intermediate Educators
Six characteristics of Culturally Responsive Teaching
This module will explore the six characteristics of Culturally Responsive Teaching & Pedagogy. K-12 educators are invited to recognize the ways in which they themselves, and all students, learn differently in connection to their “background, language, family structure and social or cultural identity.” This is an assets-based, reflective approach which recognizes the value of our community and its learners, where diversity drives opportunities for enhancing learning and achievement.

This module will outline what a saint is and how to elevate saints your schools. You will be provided with a liturgy, curriculum connections and resources to use to teach students about saints.

Fostering Student and Teacher Well-Being through Positive Communities in our Classrooms
In this module, we will focus on a positive and proactive approach to life in the classroom. We will take a closer how teacher-student relationships can impact the lives of students, both academically and socially. We will explore strategies that nurture a Catholic community and encourage student voice. Participants will have opportunities to reflect and engage in discussions about current practice and next steps that foster student and teacher well-being.

Developing Ourselves and Our Interpersonal Relationships through The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Through the work of Stephen Covey and his bestselling book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, this module will explore how shifting our mindsets and being open to other perspectives may enrich relationships with ourselves and others, including students, colleagues and the greater community. Topics will include: o Core principles of effectiveness o Effective goal setting o Balancing and managing priorities o Developing interpersonal and communication skills o Fostering and sustaining collaborative practices.

The objective of this module is to build understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and support the integration of these principles into your Catholic School Community.

The course will also focus on the importance of providing FSL learners the opportunity to reflect on their language competencies to support their confidence and autonomy in acquiring another language.

Google Classroom Tips & Tricks
This module will introduce beginners to Google Classroom. Participants will learn how to create, organize, and assign assignments and tasks in Google Classroom. There will also be a focus on thinking about how to integrate Catholicity on a digital platform, how to best organize, and how to make use of Google Classroom features.

Supporting Students with Attentional Challenges
This is intended to be a self-paced learning module for your own professional development. It highlights strategies to support all students, particularly those experiencing attentional challenges. Signs and symptoms of attentional challenges are discussed, specific strategies (both class wide and individual) are shared, and case studies are explored. A variety of resources are also provided.

DPCDSB Nurturing a Mentally Healthy Classroom
This module highlights the importance of student mental health and well-being at school and recognizes the impact of student mental health on student well-being and academic achievement. It discusses numerous topics related to mentally healthy classrooms (e.g., social and physical environments, student engagement, curriculum, teaching and learning, student voice). A variety of strategies and resources are provided. The area of anxiety is also specifically explored.

If you are, then this module is for you! This session will take you through an overview of Peter Liljedahl’s work on Thinking Classrooms and will suggest things that every teacher can start doing tomorrow to improve their focus on student thinking.

Understanding STEP: An Introduction to STEP Assessment and Support
This video module provides classroom and ESL teachers with an overall understanding of ELLs, the various components of the STEP resource and how to use STEP to program for and provide appropriate accommodations for ELLs in order to increase their English language proficiency and move them across the STEP continua.

Cursive Conundrum: Is Cursive Writing in the Curriculum?
In this e-learning opportunity educators will be acquainted with where cursive writing has its place in the curriculum. Educators can develop personal resiliency by harnessing emotional and social skills. “Emotional intelligence determines how well we perceive and express ourselves; how we develop and maintain social relationships; how we cope with challenges; and how we use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way.” (Toronto, Multi-Health System Inc.) In this module, educators will reflect on personal strengths and areas of growth within 5 aspects of emotional and social functioning. Understanding one’s emotional intelligence helps build meaningful relationships, fosters an optimistic outlook and boots one’s ability to respond to challenges.
