Summary of the Act

The objective of the act was to reduce left over tea from the troubled British East India Company.

Also used to undercut price of illegal tea

It was supposed to convince colonists to purchase Company tea

Colonists reaction

The colonists realized the implications of the Act. Some colonies harassed the Company and the colonies were successful to prevent the tea from being landed in Boston. The resistance culminated in the Boston Tea Party. And when the colonists boarded tea ships they dumped the tea cargo overboard in the harbor
