Wildcat News

  • PBIS 1st Quarter Celebration: On Friday, October 28th, we will be celebrating our students who have shown good behavior this quarter! The following is a reminder of the criteria to be eligible to participate: No more than 8 MIR's (9 or more makes you ineligible), No missing work that can still be turned in for a grade, No ISS or OSS.
  • As a reminder, if a student sees their name on any teachers working lunch list, they are expected to be there on time. If there is a reason they can not, students need to have a conversation with their teacher prior. We are having issues with students not reading the board, or not being honest about where they were supposed to be during this time. Parents, it would be a huge help if you could reiterate this to your child at home! Thank you!
  • Thank you to those who have donated towards our Wildcat team celebrations! If you hadn't had a chance, please consider donating. Our students work very hard all year to earn their grades and we want to reward them! Here is the link from our team parent on how to donate. Thank you!

Language Arts

In ELA we are finishing The Outsiders and starting on our final unit projects. We will be focusing on theme and editorial writing. There is a vocabulary quiz on Monday and an interactive notebook test on Thursday.

Math 1

This week we will be working on understanding the meaning of the slope and y-intercept in real life applications. Students are also reviewing graphing equations of lines, writing equations in slope-intercept form from a graph, and re-writing an equation to slope -intercept form. We will have a mini-quiz on this on Tuesday, October 18th. After the quiz, we'll learn about equations of a line in point-slope form.

I am going to start offering tutoring after school on Wednesdays until 4pm for the first 10 students who sign up. Students who participate must have their own ride home at no later than 4pm. They must also come with specific questions regarding homework or classwork. Tutoring will begin on October 26th. As always, working lunch is still a time for students to come and get extra support if needed.

Math 7

We are finishing up operations with decimals this week! We will review all operations on Monday, and then quiz on Tuesday. I am VERY impressed will how our students have been doing with decimal operations! When studying for the quiz, make sure students spend extra time reviewing comparing/ordering fractions, decimals, and percents. On Wednesday, we will start learning operations with negative fractions and mixed numbers.

Science

Monday, we will review the quiz and the most missed questions. Quiz grades went down so please make sure your kids are studying their science notes at home. We will begin to learn about work and then end the week with circuits. The Force menu is due Thursday, Oct.20th. Science unit test is coming up on Oct.25th and a study guide will be given out next week to help with the process. This test covers lots of material so the kids needs to be reviewing everything!!

Social Studies

Because of Hurricane Matthew the test is pushed back to Monday. The eye witness account is also due on Monday. On Tuesday, we will start our new unit, Absolutism and Enlightenment.
