St. Louis Preschool
Welcome Letter W
We got out our water tables for a little water fun and will continue our splish-splashing water play when ever we get a nice day.
We have been working each week too with the number 10. Counting forward and backward, counting by tens in both English and Spanish.
On Friday, Pre-K students worked on a Worry Angel Craft. Our Worry Angels are inspired by Guatemalan tradition but, we of course wove in our Christian faith-tradition, giving our students something tangible to help them understand how God knows the worries of our hearts. Each night before bed children are invited to tell their worries to their Worry Angel and place her by their bed as they go to sleep. While the child sleeps, the Worry Angel takes those worries right up to heaven, placing them in God's loving hands. When the child wakes, they are gifted with the wisdom and knowledge of how to eliminate their worries.
Caterpillars and Butterflies
Finally, after they emerge as butterflies, we will enjoy setting them free to do the important work of a pollinator. Stay-tuned.
Thank you Mrs. Hillenbrand for being a Guest Reader
It was such a gift for the children to be able hear a native speaker and to gain confidence in all we have learned so far.
Thank you Mrs. Hillenbrand. We are grateful that you were willing to share your time with us. It was clear that Jonny was so excited to have his mom here with us and we were overjoyed to have her too.

Asher is a Star Person
Asher brought in a hysterical picture of his family to share with. He was making quite the silly face, as mom, dad, and brothers Tucker and Meyer were all smiles, posing for the camera. Asher definitely stole the show but the love in the Suddath family was obvious.
On Friday we really got to see Asher's personality shine through with his All About Me Bag. Asher definitely loves the Turtles, bringing in Rafael all dressed and ready for school. I just cracked up seeing this lovie in big boy clothes all ready to go for the day. Asher also shared with us an adorable captains hat which he wore for the rest of the day backwards. Just a little homage to his Star status for the day, and the uniqueness of his personality.
Asher's dad joined us on Friday as our Guest Reader, reading The Very Brave Lion, a sweet story about growing up, being scared and reminding us that being a brave leader is really all about kindness and love.
It has such a wonderful week celebrating our friend Asher.
