Email Migration Information- 2/20/20
Here is some helpful information as we move towards our migration to Outlook on February 20th. Feel free to browse these resources, but I will also have a Y'all Come Session on the next day in lab A19.
Information from GCPS:
On Thursday, February 20, your email and calendar will be moving to Microsoft Outlook. This is your “go-live” date.
Here are a few things you should know in preparation for this move:
- On the evening prior to go-live, you will not be able to use Lotus Notes after 6 pm. On the morning of go-live you will begin to work in Outlook.
- The following Lotus Notes items will migrate to Outlook: Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Trash and all of your folders.
- Lotus Notes calendar entries will migrate as well. If you currently link an external calendar e.g. Google calendar, to your Lotus Notes calendar, remove that link prior to your migration.
- Archives will not migrate but you will continue to have access to them through Lotus Notes indefinitely. Before access to archives is restricted, you will be provided with instructions regarding archives.
An email will be sent 3 business days prior to your go-live with additional details regarding the migration.
Training options:
- You can begin to explore the how-to documents provided via the employee portal under Tools > Training Resources (found under Technology Support) > Office 365
- There are additional online courses available via Lynda.com. Lynda courses can be accessed free of charge by the Gwinnett County Public Library
