News from the Music Room:
The Gayman music room has a new addition and we are so excited to share the news! Thirteen mini electric keyboards have been added to our general music room. The district began a pilot program in three of the elementary schools last year, and has expanded this year to include Gayman. It is NOT a piano lesson, but rather an enhancement for the music program to aid in note reading, and building children's musical confidence and creativity. Mrs. Volpe, and Miss New, our general music teachers, are very excited for the new lab for the 2017-2018 school year, and many years to come!
Ice Cream Social!
Our thanks to John!!
John Kyle is in the process of earning his Eagle Scout Badge. For his community service project, he resurfaced the Gayman outdoor benches. After hours of scrubbing, painting, and fixing the woodwork and the hardware, the benches are complete. And they look like new!
John, thank you for reviving this beautiful space for our students! We appreciate it!

Gayman Email Address For Absences
Gayman has an email account set up specifically for absences. You still have the option of sending an email to your child's teacher letting them know your child is sick and requesting homework. In lieu of sending in a note, simply send an email to:
and the email will count as his/her excuse note. If you have any questions feel free to contact the office.
Boomerang Awards
This year, Gayman will continue to accept nominations for the Boomerang Award, which is our way of honoring students who best demonstrate their own developmental assets. What are Developmental Assets? Students possessing a combination of “40 Assets” are typically most successful in school and in life. These assets have the power to influence choices young people make and help them become caring, responsible adults. For a complete listing of the 40 Developmental Assets visit: www. Search-institute.org.
September: #24 - BONDING TO SCHOOL. Young person cares about his/her school. The student is actively engaged in promoting a positive school community.
