Dear Jaguar Families,

This month's newsletter is packed full with information. I am sending it out a bit early as there are some events that are scheduled for early in the month, so it is important for you to have this information sooner rather than later.

After School Games and Activities-I made a crucial error in a recent parent newsletter. I stated that students "must go home first" before they can attend any after-school event. That is incorrect. Student "must leave campus" before they can attend any after-school event. It is crucial that we clear campus before allowing students back onto campus for any event. If your child would like to attend an after-school event, please make arrangements ahead of time, for them to leave campus and return at the appropriate time. Events, such as games, do not usually begin until 4:30 or 4:45. This "must leave campus" rule, does not apply to detention, tutoring, or any arrangements made with a teacher or staff member ahead of time.

Dine-Out Night- Our JBC has schedule a Dine-Out night at Barro's for Thursday, October 27, 2022. The information is down below.

Thanksgiving Feast-Please take note of our Thanksgiving Feast scheduled for November 2, 2022. The schedule of lunches is listed down below. Tickets for an adult lunch can be purchased for $4.60. Email, Ms. Kleinart, our kitchen manager, at cafeteria.wc@lesd.k12.az.us if you would like to help serve.

Drug Awareness Night-Don't forget the district is hosting a drug awareness night for parents and students at Western Sky Middle School. It is scheduled for November 2 at 5:00 pm.

Complete the attached form and return to the school of your choice by April 15, 2023 or mail to the District Office prior to April 15, 2023 in order to take it off your State of Arizona taxes at the time you file for 2022.

Our Site Council recently approved tax credit monies to be applied to the following before/after school clubs. Teachers who sponsor clubs are paid additional stipends for their time spent planning and sponsoring clubs outside of school hours. We believe involvement is important for our students so this year we are offering more clubs than ever before.

• Mr. Corella-Media Club
• Ms. Johnson-Creative Writing Club and Pom Team

For many of the teachers, this club is in addition to their Teacher Leader Project so your support through tax credit is crucial.
