Greek architecture has been known for their columns. Their are three types: Doric , Ionic< and Corinthian. They were also known for their temples.. Every City-State has a temple that was dedicated to one Greek God. The temples were made for worshiping and making sacrifices. Some leaders like Pericles and Alexander the Great spread the Greek architecture throughout Europe. Other types of Greek art include pottery, sculptures, and paintings. We see Greek influence in architecture in important buildings. The White House, Capitol Building, Supreme Court, and The Lincoln Memorial all have Greek columns.
Greek Government
The Greek's government they had a democracy because they didn't want one person in power. The citizens were expected to vote, go to the theater if they weren't in the military. Some of their leaders are Draco, Solon, and Hipparchus. Their leaders changed very frequently they only got 2 terms and their terms were 1 year.In Greece there was slavery. The wars that occurred are Battle of Marathon, and Persian invasion. We see Greek government today by our democracy, everyone gets to vote at the age of 18 and are expected to vote, and they can say their opinions.

The people who could be in the Olympics had to be free male citizens entitled to participate. The sports that they played were javelin, boxing, shot-put, long jumping, and running. The people who were able to watch the Olympics were men. The Greeks that were in the Olympics felt honored. We also see these same events today.

Greek Philosophy
Some philosophers in Greece were Thales,Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. Some ideas/beliefs of some philosophers Thales: he was the first natural philosophers and founder of the Ionian school. Socrates: He is known for creating Socratic irony. Some things they wrote were Republic was made by Plato. Aristotle wrote Posterior Analysis. Philosophers were feared in Greece because the Government thought they would cause a riot. Three ways that Greek culture is here today. We still see Doctors using the hypocritical oath. We use some math skills like pie. We still see pathagim therom. We still study geometry.
