Parent Update
Hello KRMS families,
Teachers' gradebooks are updated regularly throughout the weeks so, there should be no surprises as JumpRope is a live document. Moving into the last half of the year, we look forward to the work and growth ahead of us.
Things continue to be busy here at KRMS. Winter sports and after school clubs are all underway. We are so happy to see that so many students are participating in after school activities. Unfortunately, we have had some difficulty with student behavior when they are waiting for the late bus. We know that the only way it is possible for some students to participate in after school activities is having the late bus as an option to get home. However, riding the late bus is a privilege that can be taken away from any student. If behaviors do not get better, students will be suspended from riding the late bus. Please discuss this with your children. In addition, students participating in KRMS sponsored activities need to keep their work habit grades in good standing to continue their involvement on teams and clubs.
As a reminder, cell phones are NOT allowed during school hours. Cell phones should be off and away in student’s lockers for the entire day, limiting distractions and maximizing learning. Should you need to get in touch with your child, please call the main office and we would be more than happy to get a message to your child or call your child down to use our office phones. PARENTAL SUPPORT WITH THIS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Teaching behavioral expectations and recognizing students' expected behavior is an important part of a child's education and helps them be successful in school. KRMS's motto of being Kind, Respectful, Motivated and Safe has been our guide this year. We have been implementing an incentive program to reward students for kind behavior. It is our hope that this will motivate students by providing rewards when they make kind choices and use kind words. So far students have earned free choice seating at lunch. Students were excited to sit with their friends on the other grade level team. We hope that students earn an all school bingo game this week.
Thank you all for your continued support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Kerry Hunt
