Student Spotlight "Gabriela Tapia"

Who is she?

Gabriela is a senior at Conrad Schools of Science who is excited to attend Del-Tech next year to major in nursing and minor in psychology. Her goal is to become a psychiatric nurse.

Why is learning personal finance important?

"When you have more knowledge about finance you really see the world differently. You learn to appreciate what your parents have to deal with and overall learn that earning money is really important. It really opens your eyes on the reality of how much things cost and how there is no such thing as easy money"

What advice do you have for other students?

"One MAJOR thing about applying to college is to get the FAFSA done!! Don't leave it till the end and submit it at the last minute. FAFSA is really important when you're trying to apply for applications that will give you free money. Don't think that because your parents make enough money, you won't be able to qualify. Trust me, I left this at the last minute and it just stressed me out more."
