Our Leadership Quality of the week is Fortitude
CHARACTER TRAIT OF THE WEEK
LEEdership Quality of the Week:
strength of mind that enables a person to encounter danger or bear pain or adversity with courage
A lesson in Leadership:
If someone in the class wins a game or does something well, we will congratulate that person.
If you win or do well at something, do not brag. When you lose, do not show anger.
Lee Quote of the Week:
He who knows others is wise.
He who knows himself is enlightened.

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
READING & WRITING
Reading this week, we began our Fantasy Unit. Learners selected novels and we set up book clubs. In Language Arts, we worked on a creative writing activity about the Heaviest Mantle of Bees.
MATH
In Math, we continued our unit on 2 dimension figures. Learners performed multiple number talks on the subject and worked with pairs on a performing math activity.
SCIENCE
In Science, we completed our unit on Weather and Climate. We also started our next unit on space. This week we studied the comparison of the earth, the moon, and the sun.
SOCIAL STUDIES
In Social Studies this week, we learned about economics. Learners were able to demonstrate their learning by creating either a game board, shark tank proposal, or keynote vocabulary lesson.
All elementary learners have access to free breakfast and lunch through the remainder of this school year.
Important Information
Student Zoom Sign In Update: Please make sure that learners log into ZOOM with their g.coppellisd.com accounts starting on Monday, August 31st. If you would like more information, please view this website.
Schoology: As we continue with virtual learning, Schoology is a very important tool during this time. We know some of our learners are using the app, but it is best for them to use the web-based version: https://schoology.coppellisd.com/
Learners need to make sure they are completing and submitting all of their work for each course since that is how we are taking attendance. In addition, although online learning is taking place at home, learners should be starting and finishing their work on their own as they would in-person at school.
Lee Specials Quarterly Newsletter: Our specials team puts out a newsletter each week. Check it out!
Box Tops: Did you know you can SCAN Box Tops and earn money for our school with items you already purchase for your home? Learn more about this quick and easy way to help our school.
