Defenition
Reflection is a transformation that reflects an object across a line called the line of reflection.
Function Rules
- to reflect across the X axis, multiply the "Y"s by -1.
- to reflect across the Y axis, multiply the "X"s by -1.
Examples
Reflecting across the x axis
As you can see, to reflect across the x axis, the Y coordinates for the image were multiplied by -1 causing the image to reflect across the Y axis.
Reflecting across the Y axis
As you can see, to reflect the image across the Y axis, the X coordinates were multiplied by -1 causing the image to reflect across the Y axis.
