District Health Policy Reminder
Just a reminder for parents of the following district health policies now that we seem to be entering the next phase of the pandemic. When can my child return to school after an illness?:
- Must be fever free for a full 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication
- Must be free of vomiting or diarrhea for a full 24 hours
- All medication including over the counter items such as cough drops must have a doctor's order to be administered in the elementary setting.
- Coughing is uncomfortable to deal with in the school setting. Coughing is disruptive not only to the sick student, but the entire class. Coughing easily spreads germs to others.
- If the cough is new please keep your child home and monitor for further symptoms. If the cough is resolving, please carefully consider the frequency of the cough before returning your child to school.
- Pink Eye is highly contagious if one or both eyes are red, itchy, crusty or sticking together please keep your child home and see your doctor for a proper diagnosis
Updates from our Nurse - Over the Counter Medicine
Just a reminder of our district Medications in the District's Policy.
Anything over the counter including, but not limited to, Tylenol, Tums, cough drops and lozenges are considered a medication and a medical provider note must be provided to the nurse in order for the medication to be administered in school.
Please review our district policy and find the proper permission paperwork on this link.
