Mission Statement
A quality Fine Arts education is essential to a well-rounded education for every child. Students that participate in the Arts are able to explore their passions and develop the creativity that is vital to every student's growth. Fine Arts teachers in Little Elm ISD are committed to the district's vision to Engage, Equip, and Empower each student to realize their full potential.
Let's promote LEISD Fine Arts on Social Media!
Upcoming Events:
Ella Smith was nominated by Caitlin Hale, the Music teacher at Prestwick Elementary School. Mrs. Hale had this to say about Ella:
"Ella Smith is a fifth grader who is part of our Prestwick Chorale as well as our Little Elm ISD Honor Choir. Ella always comes to our rehearsals with a great attitude and ready to learn. She is kind and helpful to everyone around her and is always ready to tackle any challenges. I'm so happy to have Ella in my class and choir!"
"Melanie Aguilar is an 8th grade student in my Junior Varsity Treble Choir. She is the hardest worker you will ever meet in your life. She brings everything she has to everything she does. She is the JV Choir president and does a great job to motivate the sometimes rowdy group of girls into working hard and giving it their best. Outside of choir, she is in Honors History as well as many athletic programs both within the district and outside of the district. She is an excellent volleyball player, soccer player, and basketball player. Her nights that are not spent doing homework or practicing are often spent helping care for younger family members. Melanie hopes to join the military after school, but I know whatever she does in life, she is going to be awesome at it! I am so lucky to have her in my program and to know her."
Meredith Spaw teaches Music at Oak Point Elementary School.
From Lewisville, Texas, Meredith Spaw is currently in her fifth year of teaching. She is a 2016 graduate of Texas Tech University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Music Education degree. Meredith is also Kodaly certified and recently obtained her Level 1 Orff certification at SMU. In her teacher bio, Meredith states, "Music is a universal language that does not discriminate. The music room should be a safe place for all to learn and build relationships through many different musical avenues. No one person is the same and that’s something to be celebrated. Music does just that."
We are very fortunate Mrs. Spaw chose to teach in Little Elm ISD and we are glad to have her on our Fine Arts Team!

What is Color Guard / Winter Guard? - Kristen Zotti
What is Color Guard?
In simple words, Color Guard is a co-ed sport of the arts. It consists of manipulating equipment to convey a story using performance, dance, flags, rifles, and sabres. In the fall season, the Color Guard performs with the marching band to enhance and contribute to the overall story telling of the show. The Color Guard visually shows the audience a story, or makes them feel something, while the band provides the live music.
Color Guard then evolves into Winter Guard. Winter Guard is an indoor activity performed in a gym, from November - April. We learn a completely new show to a musical soundtrack immediately following the marching band season, and start performing and competing in January. With the training used from our fall season, we strive for excellence in Winter Guard. This is where the Guard can stand and shine alone as a unit without the marching band. The Winter Guard at Little Elm is highly competitive in the country rankings and considered to be one of the best in the state of Texas. This comes from years of consistent world class teaching from staff, and dedication from all Guard families. Winter Guard is truly a beautiful blend of athleticism and artistic abilities. The Color Guard and Winter Guard members learn more than just how to do this activity. They learn teamwork, commitment, time management, to be relentless, and most importantly to be a good person. All of these things, combined with great training, is why the Winter Guard at Little Elm High School is consistently a great program to be a part of.
If you have not gotten a chance to see the Guard live you still have a chance!
April 3rd @ Coppell High School, performance time TBA.

In an effort to provide safety and security for all students in LEISD, the district requires that parent volunteers complete an annual background check, due after July 1st of each year. The application used for the check is called AppGarden. The link is provided below. Should a volunteer need to provide fingerprinting, the district will notify the applicant with instructions on how to complete the background process.
THANK YOU for being willing to volunteer of your free time for the students in Little Elm ISD!
