Barry partners with SUNY Cortland
Barry Primary has been very lucky to partner with SUNY Cortland. Miss Cynthia Briggs, a practicum immersion student, is working with a first grader in Mrs. Clark’s Class on some orthographic mapping exercises of tricky words!
First Graders Plant Flowers
First Graders in Mrs. Clark’s Class made sunflowers to plant a little hope for peace in the Ukraine!
Learning with Games
Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Heavens-Soda’s class did some educational games for their Fun Friday activity. They worked together to have a balloon relay race, tried to keep cotton balls on their spoons while speed walking, tried catching a plastic egg on a plate, and did a box toss to earn points. Students worked together, showed good sportsmanship and cheered for each other as they competed. To end the day they were given the challenge of getting a cookie from their forehead to their mouth without using their hands! A few were successful, and it made for some great laughs and fun!
Kindergarten Learning and Growing!
Kindergarten kids get so excited when they learn a new skill like shoe-tying. They love to practice this skill any chance they get. Learning to tie shoes and sharing that skill show many of our P2 Character Traits including Kindness and Perseverance; supporting others is a way to show that #otherpeoplematter!
