Second Grade

Our second grade scientists have been discovering why matter matters! We have been investigating matter and various properties of matter. Next, we will explore how matter can change.

As mathematicians, second graders have been using addition and subtraction strategies to balance equations with a change in topic soon covering money and time.

Social studies has led the second grade classes to evaluate early immigration and the cultural influences of Native American tribes of America. Next up we will compare the Colonial America groups of the countryside with the city groups.

In reading, we’ve absorbed so much knowledge from main idea and details, to sequencing events, to using text features (along with the text) in supporting evidence for asking and answering questions about a topic.
