WMS Friday Forecast

August 16, 2019 - Week 1

Dear Parents:

What a great start to our school year! I have been so impressed with all of our kids, especially those who have helped new students make a friend, who have invited kids they don't know to sit at their lunch table, who have shown kindness in unexpected ways. The first few days at a school are not just about academics. They are days where we make connections, set high expectations, and show love and kindness as we get to know our students.

As we move forward this year, continue to coach your child to show kindness and respect to everyone in our RedHawk community. There are a million things in school that important to learn... but those are the most vital in life.

Thank you for sharing the lives of your students with us.

Consider donating items to a recently graduated North Star as she works to complete her Girl Scout Gold Award! Brigid Millette is seeking donations of items to include in "stress-relief kits" that will be donated to schools in D303 in order to give students an opportunity to de-stress and work on healthy coping mechanisms.

New or gently used items are greatly appreciated. Donation boxes are located near the front entrances of North High School, East High School, and Thompson Middle School, and donations will be accepted through the end of August.

See the flyer included below for a list of items! THANK YOU!!!
