Alone in The Ice World

By Derek Sanderson

My Summary

A 14 year old girl named Allison Atwood is going to see her mom in Alaska when the plane that she is going there in crashes close to the Arctic Circle. The pilot died, leaving Allison in a wilderness of ice and snow. After hours of huddling through the plane's cargo, she is rescued by an inupiat trapper. He takes her to his village, which seems really far away from her home in southern California. here she is the called the "ice worm," also known as the outsider. Over time, however, the people of the village changed her life, and Allison changes their lives too. The meaning of this book is to show the hardship and survival , and how before she would never go somewhere like this but after the plane crashed that all changed. :)
