TIGER TRIBUNE
Let's take the day to get our little ones checked, establish healthy habits and help them flourish!
The HSE Hybrid Learning Model
EQUITY IN LEARNING
To ensure that all HSE students receive equal access to the rigorous education promised to our
families, classroom experience, and coursework will be almost identical, regardless of where students are learning.
ONLINE LEARNING
There will not be a change to the class schedule, format, or expectations of our online learners.
IN-PERSON LEARNING
It is our top priority to keep our students and their families as safe as we possibly can. Families who choose to return to the HSE campus will effectively be learning virtually while at the school.
STUDENT HEALTH CHECKS
All students, staff, teachers, parents, and visitors must have their temperature checked upon
entry. No individual with a temperature of 100.0° or over is allowed to enter the building.
It is the responsibility of our families to perform self-health checks prior to arriving on campus.
Should a student have any symptoms (as listed on page 32 in the HPS Back to School Playbook), they should not come to school.
THE CLASSROOM
● Students must wear their school uniform every day.
● Masks are required, at all times, while on campus.
● Students will be seated at socially-distanced desks equipped with a plastic blocker.
● Students will be doing virtual learning while on campus, attending classes, and completing
assignments on Schoology or other online learning platforms.
● Students will spend the entire academic day, including lunch, in their assigned classroom, at
their assigned desks.
● In-person learners must use school-issued Chromebooks and will be expected to bring and take home their computers each day. If your student needs an HSE Chromebook, email
● Students must bring a clear backpack. If the student does not have one, HSE will provide one
for free. School lockers/cubbies will not be used.
● Teachers will be present in the classroom; however, they will remain socially distanced from students.
MODIFYING LEARNING OPTIONS
If you would like to make a change to the learning option for your student, go to your Family Skyward account and click on the Instruction Re-Selection Form.
Shifting from in-school to virtual learning is completed immediately; however, switching from virtual to in-person could take up to two weeks for approval and processing.

HSE is starting its journey on becoming a National School of Character!
Harmony School of Excellence is on its way to becoming a "Character School", where we work together to make our school stronger in developing core ethical, performance, intellectual, and civic values in our young students with the commitment of helping them to become caring and responsible citizens.
The core values that we want to instill in our young students are
Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Compassion, and Honesty- R.E.A.C.H. These core values will be the pillars of our 'character culture', helping us grow stronger mentally, socially and emotionally as we strive to become a distinguished Character School using the 11 Principles Framework.
We invite all stakeholders of our school community to join us and help us promote R.E.A.C.H!!!
It is cool to be good at Math!!!
NLMC is a national math contest given by @noeticlearning. This contest was created to inspire young students' interest in math and convey the message, "It is COOL to be good at math." The contest is for students in 2nd to 8th grade, and students will have 45 minutes to answer 20 challenging math problems.
If you would like your child to compete, the cost is $20 to enter them in the fall and spring competitions. $20 covers the cost of both competitions for your child and can be paid at Revtrak-Noetic Math 2020

This year we will be doing VIRTUAL HOME VISITS!
Education is at its best when all stakeholders involved share a common vision and passion to see students thrive in and out of the classroom. Families, teachers, and school staff all play vital roles in ensuring excellence in our campus education.
We plan to visit each student one on one with their parents for a few minutes to ensure our students receive the wrap-around support needed for their success. Please email us when you are available. It is just a time to get to know each other better and explain a little more about our expectations this year.
Free and reduced lunch application!
If you have not already applied for free and reduced lunch for the current year, please do so now. On October 1st, all previous year’s eligibility has expired. If you were free or reduced in the 2019-2020 school year, you are now PAID.
Please visit https://www.schoolcafe.com/ and complete an online application for this school year.
If you need a paper copy, please contact Mrs. Ramirez at (713)983-8668 or tRamirez@harmonytx.org.
