Lee's Summit Parents as Teachers

Summer 2019

Have a safe and fun summer!

We want to take this time to thank you for allowing us into your homes and to watch your children grow and learn. We know that the most important years are those first three years of your child's development and appreciate being part of it!

Don't forget that we are offering Conscious Discipline classes this summer (see the flyer below) and have something fun planned for September Back To School.

If any of your information changes over the summer, please email or call the office at 986-2480 and leave a message for your parent educator; we will make sure she gets the information. Also, please be sure and share this newsletter with anyone you think would enjoy it!

We will continue to receive enrollments during the summer months.

You must reside in the Lee's Summit School District to participate in the Lee's Summit Parents as Teachers program.

Could you help us out?

Please continue to save Chipotle style bags over the summer. We have an average of 62 students per week who receive the Food Packs from Coldwater. Any paper bag that is approximately 10"X12" with handles will work.

You can bring them to the school in August or give them to your parent educator when she comes to see you.

Thank you for your continued support of this program!

From the Lee's Summit District Website regarding Kindergarten

What are the registration requirements for my student who will start Kindergarten?

Kindergarten enrollment is held each spring in every attendance area. To be enrolled in Kindergarten, a child must be five years of age before August 1st. Proof of age, immunization records, and proof of residency are required for children entering school for the first time.

We want to wish all the students heading to kindergarten much success! We have loved watching you grow and develop and we feel so lucky to have been part of your learning journey! Congratulations and best wishes as you head off to your elementary school in the Fall!
Emotions - Social Emotional Development

Helping a child to understand disappointment or sadness helps them to learn how to regulate their emotions.

Have you seen this hidden treasure???

We are lucky to have the Native Hooved Animal Enclosure in one of our Jackson County Parks. There are many trails at Lake Jacomo to hike as well. Have a fun family adventure!
