Diorite is a intrusive igneous rock. That means rocks that are inside of a volcano. Igneous rocks come from a word called Ignis. That means fire. There are also other types of intrusive igneous rock like: gabbro, granite, pegmatite, etc.

Diorite is a mix between gabbro and granite. Uncommon to granite, diorite no little quartz in it.
