Poetry offers children the opportunity to hear language in a fun way. Young children begin to enjoy the rhymes and rhythms of language as soon as they become aware of the speech and sounds that people around them make.
You and your students can celebrate National Poetry Month with activities at Start with a Book, by ReadingRockets.org. Yankee Doodle fill-in-the-blank Poetry Activity is a fill in the blank activity that may be a fun and easy way to begin. From the Preschool Powol Packets blog, is a Poetry Unit for Preschool to go with Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends.

Have you ever gotten hung up in an application, when it is unresponsive and you can’t seem to get out of it? You can force an application to close with Force-Quit. Choose Force-Quit from the Apple menu or press Command-Option-Esc (similar to Control-Alt-Delete on a PC). A window will open where you can select the unresponsive program, then press Force Quit.
