FROM SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION
School of Excellence Initiative Updates
I am excited to share the amazing initiatives and projects our PTA School of Excellence Committee is working on. Our committee has focused on increasing the family engagement with our Lisbon school community by creating a more welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students and their families. Our initiatives ensure that families new to Lisbon and/or the area, as well as students and their families of all cultural backgrounds feel connected and welcome.
The committee is working on the following initiatives/projects:
Lisbon Family Guide: This document will provide families with an easy to use guide to help them navigate the "in's and out's" of Lisbon Elementary School and HCPSS.
Lisbon Liaisons: Liaison families will help families new to Lisbon feel welcome and comfortable asking questions and joining school events. They will also be able to assist with translation and/or community connections as needed.
International Fair: We would like to celebrate the diversity here at Lisbon by providing an opportunity to personally reach out to families so they can share their cultural heritage. Through this initiative, students are also able to share about countries they have learned about in school or while traveling.
Refrigerator Magnets: The Lisbon quick reference magnets will include important school information to provide easy access to phone numbers, names, and information regarding Lisbon Elementary School.

*Nominating Committee members - Executive Board members serve a 2-year term. *Lisbon Business and Community Directory (White Pages) - Are you great at google forms and spreadsheets? This project is for you!
