Taser
By Whylon
Did you know...
Tasers were invented in 1969, and it is named after the creator’s childhood hero’s gun? Did you know that the Tasers give a diagnosis of excited delirium to their targets?
How it Works
A taser is an electroshock weapon that shoots out two small dart-like electrodes. There are two strings that are still connected to the gun to send an electric current to the target. The target will get paralyzed for a while and then he/she can move again.
History
Jack Cover a NASA researcher, started building the taser in 1969 and finished in 1971. He named his invention the taser after the name “Tom Swift's electric rifle” (his childhood hero). The taser uses gunpowder to launch the darts, so the federal government called it a firearm, a classification for the police and military.
Cover got welcomed in the world in New York on April 6, 1920 and grew up in Chicago.
His father was a educator of economics and his mother received a mathematics master's position at the University of Chicago. During World War 2, he was a test pilot. Later he worked for Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. He was a scientist at North American Aviation for 12 years and also worked for N.A.S.A.

Excited Delirium
Excited delirium is a mixture of delirium, anxiety, hallucinations, violent and bizarre behaviour, insensitivity to pain, elevated body temperature, and superhuman strength.
Delirium, another word for delirium is acute confusional state:
1.Hyperactive Delirium: you might get agitated or aggressive, incoherent speech, disorganized thoughts, delusions ( things that haven't happened or years ago), disorientations.
2.Hypoactive Delirium: sluggish and drowsy, less reactive and sullen, looks withdrawn (Afraid of having hallucinations)
3.Mixed State Delirium: having some of Hypoactive Delirium and Hyperactive Delirium.
Anxiety, is an emotion that makes you unpleasant state and nervous behavior.
Hallucinations, things that see in your head that is not in the real world. It happens when you're really hot or in this case excited delirium.
Elevated body temperature, is when your body absorbs more heat than dissipates.
Superhuman strength, is unexpected extreme strength by humans, it mostly happens when it is life and death situation.
Conclusion
In my opinion, taser are cool guns, but, they are dangerous and scary I hope I never get tazed and maybe die. I chose this subject to learn more about them, so I know what happens to people and to me if I get tazed.
