Senior Dedications due Monday, October 2nd
The due date is fast approaching! Senior dedication payment and materials are due by Monday, October 2nd. If you want to honor your senior with an eighth, quarter, half, or even full page dedication in the 2018 yearbook, please read the letter regarding requirements, pricing, and submission of materials which is available under the "Seniors" tab of the high school's homepage. Dress Code
"We would like all students to adhere to the following expectations, as well as know that all members of our faculty and staff have the authority to hold students accountable for violations. Please note that we cannot fully predict/include all circumstances. For that reason, the administration reserves the right to determine whether a student’s attire is appropriate for the educational environment.
1. Headwear: Unless worn for religious or medical purposes, hats, hoods, scarves, and bandanas are not to be worn during school hours. Headwear must be kept in lockers or inside backpacks. Sunglasses are not to be worn indoors.
2. Clothing (and jewelry/accessories): that displays obscene, profane, vulgar or lewd words, pictures, symbols, designs or double-meaning slogans, violence, drug, tobacco, sex-related connotations, or is offensive to any individual’s nationality, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or gender group will be prohibited. Shorts must be mid-thigh in length or longer
Dresses/skirts must be mid-thigh in length or longer
Pants must be worn at the waist and not below it
Tee shirts/blouses/dresses/other items must cover the top of the shoulder with a minimum of a 1-inch strap of material, and a student’s back/torso must be covered starting with the shoulder blades
See-through clothing of any kind is not permitted unless a proper lining or garment underneath is worn. This includes, but is not limited to, sheer or mesh fabric
All garments must cover the midriff and side of the chest/torso
Undergarments must be covered at all times and may not be visible
Outdoor coats/jackets must be stored inside lockers – Sweatshirts/sweat jackets are allowed
3. Footwear: must be worn at all times and be safe and appropriate for each activity. The safest footwear includes sneakers, closed-toed shoes and/or sandals with straps around the ankle."

PTO News...
SBHS PTO/ Kaplan SAT vs ACT combo practice test will be tomorrow, Saturday, 9/30/17 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Blue Cafeteria. Those students that signed up should arrive no later than 8:45 am and come through the high schools main entrance. Please make sure you bring $15.00 in Cash or a check made out to the South Brunswick High School PTO. This will be collected upon arrival . Please note students will not be allowed to take the test without a payment. Students should bring (2) #2 pencils, a calculator, water, and snack as well as a fully charged smartphone or tablet.
PTO Membership is $15.00 per family for the school year. Membership dues can be sent along with the form and check made out to SBHS PTO via regular mail to the high school or handed in to the secretary at the front desk:

PTO Shoe Drive:
The PTO is running a Shoe Drive Fund Raiser until December 31st. Our goal is to collect 7500 pairs of used shoes!
All types of footwear is accepted in good, gently used conditions. The footwear provides an incredible economic boost by supporting micro-enterprises in developing nations.
Shoe donation bins are locate at the SBHS near the front entrance and the gym as well as at the South Brunswick Public Library located in front of their cafe.

Taste of Education, Monday, October 16th, 2017
South Brunswick High School Viking 5 K and 1 Mile Fun Run
SCHEDULE: 1 Mile Fun Run – 9:30 AM - 5k Run - 10:00 AM, Kiddie Dash – 11:00am Walkers are welcome
FEES: 5K - $25 if postmarked before October 29th ($22 for USATF members) $30 on Race Day (no USATF discount on race day) 1 Mile - $20, $12 for children under 10 – Kiddie Dash – Free - $10 with a shirt
Trophies will be awarded by age groups. There will also be fAMILY – Awards will be presented to the 3 family members with the lowest cumulative time. Family members can run together or separate, all that matters is the combined time for the team. No same day entry for Fittest Family teams.

All club information is being updated as it is received, with most clubs starting to meet late September/Early October
Club Reminder-Pay to Participate Information
The cub participation fee is $25.00. All students must go through the Pay to Participate process even if they have met the family maximum or are exempt from paying because they qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. Payments are not transferable, refundable or retroactive. Once a payment is made, PRINT A RECEIPT for your records AND to submit to your advisors.
Club Advsiors will be verifying club payment in January. Students who fail to submit payment receipts will not be permitted to continue to attend or participate and the activity will not be recorded on their transcript. Help “Stir up Smiles”
Please help our Activities office "stir up smiles" this Halloween and consider donating costumes(new) or goodie bag items for pediatric patients and their families in local New Jersey hospitals. Grade Transcript Corrections - Grades 10, 11 and 12
Activities Club & Organizations Transcripts corrections can only be requested for last year (2016 - 2017) using the Transcript Correction Form (link listed below). Forms are also available in SPS and the Activities Office. Please be sure to FIRST review the items listed online at Family Connect under Academic Info before making a correction requests.
