The Land of Stories

Beyond the Kingdoms

About the Book

The book The Land of Stories: Beyond the Kingdoms, was written by Chris Colfer. It is a fictional story about two siblings that can move between the 'real world' and the 'fairy-tale world.' The two kids are named Alex and Conner, Alex is the fairy godmother that has some serious anger issues that causes her to have magic outbreaks when she gets frustrated. This doesn't help her when the fairy council denies her request to search for the 'masked man' who she mistakenly believes is her father. Conner on the other hand does not like using magic, so he tries to keep it all concealed, but little does he know, that when they get separated, the only way to survive is by using his own magic. He can't talk to Alex because they are in different books that the 'masked man' trapped them in. The only problem is that he has no idea how to use his magic in the correct way, so the question is, will he save everyone or destroy them? My favorite part is when they got to travel to different books that I have read before, so I could relate to some of the stories with all of my favorite childhood characters like Peter Pan and the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz. I recommend this book to anyone that loves the thrill of racing around trying to save the world. If they are one minute late, then the entire world has to suffer. Do you think they will make it out of the books alive? If they do, will they come out alone, or will they bring some unwanted company?
