From the Directors

We want to congratulate the cast and crew of the 2021 musical; "A Musical Showcase." The show included showstoppers from the past 9 years of Chatfield musical productions. It was a fantastic production put together with incredible effort and talent! We are so proud of each student! We loved watching and hearing the fantastic performance! We also wish to thank all of the parents that supported their children in this endeavor. Special thanks to our school staff for their support and flexibility regarding the production. Lastly, we wish to honor and thank directors, Tracy Boyle and Keith Corbett! As always they supported our students to produce a fantastic performance. Our students learn so much! Thank you!

Fourth Card Marking begins today. Report cards for the third card marking are scheduled to be sent home and posted in Skyward on Friday, April 9.

Students are preparing for standardized testing in the next month or so. Eighth graders will participate in the PSAT8/9 and students in grades 3-8 will complete components of M-STEP. We want to encourage all students to take the exams seriously and to do their best.

Covid-19 Update

We know that many people are experiencing pandemic fatigue, and it has been exhausting. However, the pandemic is not over and the risk for spread remains high in Lapeer County and across the country. This is why it is critical that everyone remain disciplined in wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing, sanitizing, and washing hands often. It is important that if students are displaying symptoms that they stay home. We want to thank you for wearing a mask when you enter the building or when you are near students on school grounds. We thoroughly appreciate everyone's flexibility as we continue to navigate the pandemic. Please stay positive and let's have a great end to the school year!

Enrollment Lottery Time

Enrollment Lottery Time

This is the time of year when we reach out to the community to let people know that there are enrollment opportunities available at Chatfield for the coming school year. People who are interested in enrolling their children must participate in the annual enrollment lottery. In the next couple of weeks we will hold zoom meetings for those interested in learning about the school and enrollment lottery process. If you know of someone who may be interested, please share the information found at the end of this newsletter regarding our upcoming Zoom meetings. The highest compliment we can receive is your recommendation to a family.

Parking Lot Safety Reminders

We just have a couple of parking lot safety procedures that may help with some of the congestion that occurs.

1. For those that drop off or pick up on the north/east side of the building, please pull all the way forward to the middle school door steps when picking up and dropping off. This will allow more people to pick up and drop off at a time.

2. If you are dropping off your child and you need to get out of your car to help your child out, please do not stay in the drop off line, park your car in a spot and help your child out of the car. This will prevent the drop off line from backing up.

3. As a reminder, if you are walking up to where students or staff are waiting you MUST WEAR A MASK, even if you are remaining outside.

4. Please drive slowly and carefully in the parking lots. Safety must be everyone's first priority.

Olympics is on the Schedule!

Chatfield's 24th Annual Olympic Day is scheduled for Friday, June 11! Parent/Family volunteers will be invited to spend the day and help out running Olympic events. Here is what we know so far:

All participants, volunteers, and guests will be required to wear masks while on school grounds. We will have a picnic lunch for all, but not the traditional Olympic buffet. Olympic events/activities will be adjusted to plan for social distancing and santizing of equipment.
