CIMS Weekly Update
Week of January 14, 2024
🌎 Weekly Reflection & Information 🌎
Good afternoon CIMS parents, guardians, and family members. This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.
Congratulations to CIMS Wrestling for a strong start to the season with a 5th place at the meet on Friday and 19 individual placers!
Here are our focus items for this week:
Student Preparedness: You can help your student be successful by:
- plugging in chromebooks each night and sending fully charged devices to school each day
- not permitting your student to bring candy, snacks, gum and drinks for consumption outside of lunch time
Missing Assignments: At CIMS, our expectation is that every student completes every assignment, task, and assessment that is assigned so that we can consistently monitor your student's progress against learning objectives. You can help by encouraging your student to have a positive attitude about completing work, enforcing it at home and asking about current assignments in classes.
International Baccalauareate: At the heart of all of the IB programmes is the IB Learner Profile. The Learner Profile encompasses ten attributes that every citizen aims to develop and demonstrate throughout all interactions.

Finally, our choice window for the 2024-25 school year opens on January 15th. If you know any new families interested in attending CIMS, they can find information about applying at this website: https://www.pueblod60.org/schoolchoice.
Due to cold temperatures and adverse weather conditions, there is no school on Monday. Stay warm!
On Tuesday, CIMS Wrestling has a meet at Roncalli that begins at 5pm.
On Wednesday, CIMS Girls Basketball has their season opener at CIMS at 4:45pm.
On Thursday, we are hosting Donuts with Grown Ups. Students in all grades can bring a grown up for a donut and coffee between 7:15am-8am in the auxiliary gym.
Our annual Corn Hole tournament is coming and we are looking for sponsors. Please reference the form below to become a sponsor for our fun event! Team registrations will be open soon!
Yearbooks are now for sale. See the website and code below to order.
Finally, this week your students will bring home 2nd quarter report cards, parent volunteer letters and Letters of Intent for the 2024-25 school year. If you have an 8th grader, you will soon be receiving information regarding high school transition pieces.
That concludes our announcements. Have a great evening.
